Twenty-four (24) pieces coin silver flatware stamped R.E. SMITH in rectangle for Richard Ewing Smith, working Louisville, Kentucky 1821-1848 and Paducah, 1849. Includes 1 gravy ladle with additional eagle pseudo hallmark; set of 12 dessert spoons (all with identical monograms AAP); and 11 teaspoons (8 teaspoons with pointed fiddle handles and 3 teaspoons with rounded fiddle handles, 2 of which feature the same eagle pseudo hallmark as on the ladle). Ranging in size from 5 3/8" L to 7 1/4" L. Combined weight: 17.47 troy ounces.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Cora Jane Spiller, Bowling Green, Kentucky.
CONDITION: 1 teaspoon with rounded fiddle handle has tear and denting to bowl; 1 teaspoon with rounded fiddle handle has scaly abraded surface, otherwise all items in very good condition. Most monogrammed.
