Pair of Matthew Boulton Regency Old Sheffield 2-branch candelabra, convertible to single candlesticks, each with a center standard with flame finial, flanked by 2 arms or branches with removable bobeches, gadrooned edges and acanthus leaves throughout. Sunburst hallmarks to lower edge of the bases and to underside of the removable branch. Includes four (4) foliate etched glass hurricane shades with silver metal caps to bases. Candelabra: 18 1/4" H x 18 1/4" W. Shades: 10 1/2" H x 4 5/8" dia. Candelabra, English, early 19th century. Hurricanes, 19th century.
PROVENANCE: Collection of John H. and Carol R. Evans, Farragut, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Both candelabra in overall good condition with light general wear; the upper elements including arms, shades and center finials are likely not original to the candlesticks. Glass shades in very good condition.
