Two (2) weapons. 1st item: Japanese army Type 95 NCO shin-gunto sword and scabbard (saya), WWII era. Later model aluminum hilt, painted dark brown to resemble the lacing (ito) on officer's shin-gunto swords, with menuki and pommel decorated with cherry blossoms. Locking mechanism welded to the handle and four sided tsuba. Gifu, Nagoya, Kokura arsenal markings on fuchi, serial number "17729" with Nagoya on blade and painted metal scabbard. Blade length – 26". Scabbard length – 29". Overall length – 38". 2nd item: German Wilhelm Weltersbach folding knife with stag horn handle and silver inlay cartouche, manual spring assist. Stamped "Wilh. Weltersback Solingen Germany" on blade near handle. Blade length – 9 1/2". Overall length – 12 1/4" W. CONDITION: 1st item: Overall good condition with few nicks to blade to be expected from age and manner of use. Areas of loss, fading to dark brown paint on hilt and scabbard. 2nd item: Overall good condition with tarnish to blade.
