Mid-19th c. Missouri coin silver water pitcher, octagonal pear-shaped form with repousse floral, scroll and cartouche decoration to sides, naturalistic branch handle, and four openwork shell and scroll feet. Incuse mark to underside for Edward Mead, working Ithaca, NY, ca. 1831-1835 and St. Louis, MO, 1835-1881. 12 1/4 in. H. 39.43 oz troy. Circa 1855.
PROVENANCE: Private Georgia collection.
CONDITION: A silver shield has been applied at the center cartouche, possibly a later addition to cover a monogram. Otherwise very good condition.
