Tantalus or travelling liquor cabinet. Quarter sawn oak cabinet with nickel plated brass hardware, handles and lock. Hinged lid opens to reveal mirrored panels, 3 cut clear crystal decanters fitted into conforming compartments, each decanter with a sterling silver liquor tag for bourbon, scotch, and brandy. Hinged front face lowers to reveal camphor-lined pull-out drawer divided for cigars or cigarettes. Spring loaded drawer beneath decanters, with 3 divisions and one with hidden center compartment. Case: 14" H x 14 1/2" W x 10 1/2" D. Decanter: 9" H. Retains key. England, first quarter 20th century.
CONDITION: Overall good condition. Hinges slightly loose to top lid. Functioning locking mechanism. Brassing to hardware. Minor scratches and denting, wear commensurate with age and use. Lacks original stems and tray.
