English flintlock blunderbuss pistol, unmarked. Walnut stocks, brass barrel with flared muzzle (1 3/8" across), trigger guard, side plate, and butt plate, metal lock plate, ramrod with brass tip, marked "-31". Four English proof marks, three top of barrel, including "V" with crown, one on lock plate. Barrel length – 17 1/4". Overall length – 33". Last quarter of 18th century. Provenance: The Estate of Charles Boyd Coleman, Jr., Chattanooga, TN. CONDITION: Overall good condition. Areas of loss, largest 3/4", areas of repair, largest 1/2", and overall storage dings to stocks. Areas of tarnish, oxidation to barrel. Oxidation to bore. Ramrod is possibly a replacement.
