Springfield "Trapdoor" Model 1873 rifle, WWI Bayonet, and WWII holster, 3 items total. 1st item: Springfield "Trapdoor" Model 1873 rifle, .45-70 Caliber. Serial number 25265. Lock plate marked "U.S. Springfield" with eagle logo, breech marked "US Model 1873", butt plate marked "US". Barrel marked "VP" with a symbol of an eagle head proof mark, with additional D" and P", barrel bands marked "U". Walnut stocks, metal frame, round barrel, standard sights, and ramrod. Barrel length – 33". Overall length – 52". Serial number corresponds to year 1874. 2nd item: WWI Remington 1907 Pattern SMLE bayonet with leather and metal scabbard. Blade near hilt marked "1907 8 15 (August 1915)" with Remington roundal, British inspectors and broad arrow stamps, reverse. Scabbard unmarked. Blade length – 17". Overall length – 21 3/4". Overall length with scabbard – 22 1/2". Early 20th century. 3rd item: WWII US Army black leather holster with metal fittings. Front flap embossed "US" in oval cartouche. Includes twisted leather cord. 10 1/2" H x 5 3/8" W x 2" D. Cord length – 14". Mid 20th century. CONDITION: 1st item: Overall good condition with overall loss to bluing, surface rust, and pepper pitting. Numerous dings, surface of stocks. Actions is excellent. Bore is dark. 2nd item: Bayonet and scabbard in overall good condition considering age and manner of use. Areas of tarnish, surface pitting to blade. Hilt of scabbard slightly loose. 3rd item: Overall good condition considering age and manner of use. Areas of wear to front flap. Oxidation to metal fittings.
