Colt Model 1895 D. A. (Double Action) New Army & Navy revolver, .41 caliber, serial number 79115. Barrel marked "Colt's PT. F.A. Mfg. Co. Hartford CT. U.S.A. Patented Aug. 5 1884 Nov. 6. 88. Mar. 5. 95." and "Colt. D.A. 41". Checkered stocks with scalloped and foliate engraved silver overlay, possibly South Texas or Mexican, round barrel, ejector rod, standard sights. Several assembly marks including "8" cylinder release, "N 8 8" inside crane, and "V" back of cylinder. Also includes period brown leather flap holster with tooled scrolling foliate designs. Barrel length – 6". Overall length – 11 1/4". Holster – 5 1/4" H x 13" W. Serial number corresponds to year 1897, possible Spanish-American War connection. CONDITION: Overall good condition with 10% blue on barrel and frame. Storage dings and scratches, largest 1/4", surface of barrel and frame. Areas of tarnish to silver overlay. Action good. Mechanically sound. No signs of repair. Front sight slightly filed. Stocks believed to be original. Holster in overall worn condition to be expected from age.
