French Pendule de Cheminee ormolu or gilt bronze mantle clock featuring a courting couple under a tree, over a white enameled dial with roman numerals and pierced steel hands, on a Rococo style footed columnar base adorned with scrolls and floral decoration. The time and strike works are unsigned. Backs of figures stamped A 49. 17 1/2 in. H x 13 in. W x 4 1/2 in. D. Late 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The estate of James Drury, Lombard, Illinois.
CONDITION: Minor wear and oxidation to case. A couple of fine hairlines to dial. Lacking key. Lacking rear door.
