Two (2) spoons marked for Freeman Woods of New Bern, NC, (1765-1834), including 1 long handled teaspoon or dessert spoon with bright cut coffin end handle (6 3/4"L), and 1 tablespoon with fiddle handle; two (2) tablespoons with fiddle handles marked Z ELLIOTT in rectangle for Zebulon Elliott, working New York City, 1814-1821, and Salisbury, NC circa 1821; two (2) matching salt ladles with coffin end handles marked WF in rectangle, attributed to Wm. Faris, Jr., working Anapolis, MD, c. 1782; Norfolk VA; Havana, Cuba; and Edenton, NC (1798-1803). Also included is one long handled salt or condiment ladle with coffin handle, stamped JB EATON in rectangle for Capt. James Benton Eaton, working Boston c. 1805; Macon, GA; and Charleston, SC (c. 1829). Combined weight: 6.5 oz troy.
PROVENANCE: Private Southern collection.
CONDITION: Overall good condition with some wear; Woods spoons have wear to tips of bowls. Some light backward bending to Elliott spoons. All items monogrammed.
