Four (4) American or European knives. 1st item: Clip Point Bowie Knife with Brass Sheath. Bone hilt, brass pommel ferrule with two incised lines, and oval guard, blade flat on the left side and beveled on the right side. Sheet brass sheath with decorated throat, middle mount, toe, and hanger. Unmarked. Blade length – 11 3/8". Overall length with sheath – 16 3/8". 2nd item: Spear Point Side Knife with Original Leather Scabbard. Octagonal black gutta percha hilt, nickel silver pommel, ferrule, and S shaped guard, spear point blade, red leather scabbard with sheet brass throat and a button for the frog. Ricasso with later mark reading "…EW ORLEAN…" likely for New Orleans. Blade length – 10 1/4". Overall length with scabbard – 15 3/4". 3rd item: Side Knife with Original Leather Scabbard. Walnut hilt, brass pommel, ferrule, and scalloped S shaped guard, stopped fuller blade, brown leather scabbard. Unmarked. Blade length – 9". Overall length with scabbard – 14 1/2". 4th item: Spear Point Brass Mounted Dagger with Brass Sheath. Brass hilt, pommel, guard, and sheath with embossed floral motifs, spear point blade. Pommel marked "IXL", sheath marked "101". Blade length – 5". Overall length with sheath – 9 1/2". All items late 19th/early 20th century. Provenance: Estate of Jim Maconkey, Landrum, SC. CONDITION: 1st item: Blade in overall good condition with casting flaws. Bone handle with age cracks. 2nd item: Blade in overall very good condition. The leather scabbard is in exceptional condition, stitching is tight, there are no breaks or tears. 3rd item: Blade in overall good condition. The leather scabbard is intact, strong and supple. 4th item: Blade in overall very good condition. Areas of tarnish to brass.
