Swiss interchangeable cylinder music box, burlwood case with satinwood inlay and ebonized trim. Interior with small landscape portrait above the lift top glass door. Fitted with a steel comb and a lever winding mechanism marked with the serial #17403 and 9 bells with bee strikers and gilt birds mounted on four of the bells. Box equipped for coin operation, fully functional. 11 1/2" H x 36 1/4" W x 15" D. Late 19th century. Provenance: Private Montgomery, Alabama estate. CONDITION: Overall good condition, some wear to case and to interior painting. All teeth present to comb. Mechanism appears to be fully functional.
