Silver Neoclassical style gravy or sauce boat with chased band of mythological figures, insects, foliage, and a sheaf of wheat to body, chased leaf-and-tongue to foot, and c-scroll handle with foliate accents. Monogrammed "Lee Wood Gorham" to handle. Stamped with illegible marks to base; tests sterling. 8" H x 10 1/2" W x 3 5/8" D. 21.015 troy ounces. Continental, 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The Collection of Michael and Peggy Mahoney, by descent from the historic homes of Clarkland Farm at Bryan's Station and Cherrycote, Lexington, Kentucky.
CONDITION: Overall very good condition with minute surface scratches and minute loss/flaw in the making to base, measuring 1/8" x 1/8".
