European Side by Side Double Trigger Percussion Shotgun, 12 gauge. Gum or beech stock with checkered wrist, round barrels, iron mounted, foliate engravings on side plates, trigger guard, and breech, seven inlaid gold animals to side plate and breech, checkered hammers, front sight, ramrod. Barrel length – 31 1/2". Overall length – 47 1/2". Circa 1850s-1860s. Provenance: the collection of Benjamin Dysart, Brentwood, Tennessee. CONDITION: Action is good. Stock is worn with storage dings. Fore arm has a few chips out of the margin. Checkering to wrist worn. Barrels are wedge fastened, wedge lost and replaced by contemporary metal band. For display only.
