American coin silver teapot, c. 1845, unusual octagonal lobed form with squared spout, four cartouche feet, domed lid with urn finial, and chased floral and flourish decoration. Engraved inscription “May 10 1846” to one side and “AFS from GAS” to other. Stamped on underside in rectangles for maker William I. Tenney of New York City with partial Broadway address. 7 3/8 in H x 4 in. W x 8 in. D. 16.49 oz troy. Mid-19th century.
PROVENANCE: Private Nashville collection.
CONDITION: Overall good condition. Handle is loose at ferrules with 1 old pin repair to hold the ferrule in place.
