Two coin silver tablespoons, both with rounded fiddle handles and rounded fins, marked A. RASCH / NEW ORLEANS with reversed second N's (Anthony Rasch, working New Orleans 1821-d. 1858). Monogrammed JD in script on back. 8-1/2"L. Provenance: descended in the family of a Lewisburg, Tennessee doctor. Note: Anthony Rasch worked with noted silversmith Simon Chaudron in Philadelphia before moving to New Orleans. His patrons included President Andrew Jackson. Condition: Some wear; overall good condition.
