Charleston, South Carolina retailed coin silver coffee pot or covered pitcher, 10 1/2″H, with floral finial and lobed hinged lid over a pear shaped body with elaborate mask at spout, acanthus overlaid handle, floral repousse decoration and a central cartouche monogrammed “B”. Also monogrammed on bottom “Nellie V. Baker” and stamped for retailers Hayden & Whilden, working Charleston 1855-1863, and “G & W” attributed to Grosjean & Woodward, working New York, c. 1840-1860. 37.7 oz troy.
CONDITION: Overall good condition. Some persistent tarnish or discoloration to lower body, light overall surface wear.
