Bailey & Company, Philadelphia, sterling silver repousse lidded ewer or pitcher, marked with additional hallmarks for the maker George Sharp (Active, 1850-1874. Produced exclusively for Bailey & Co. 1852-1866). Rococo style ewer form with domed top with finial, flared lip over a pear shaped body and footed base, naturalistic branch and leaf handle; repousse scrolling grape cluster, leaf and vine decoration to the upper body with central reserve, monogrammed and dated ""FWM/1855". Base marked "Bailey & Co./136/Chestnut St. Phila"with hallmarks for George Sharp including a lion rampart, S and shield. 11 3/4" H. 36.685 total troy ounces. Provenance: Private Alabama Collection. CONDITION: Overall very good condition with very slight wear.
