George Headley 14K yellow gold, ruby and diamond bracelet in the shape of a horseshoe linked with a bridle bit, the horseshoe set with 8 square cut rubies and 8 pavª-set round diamonds of various sizes, largest being .03 ct. (one diamond missing). The clasp is connected at bridle bit and one end of horseshoe. 1" opening. 27.3 grams. Note: Headley's account books list a "diamond horseshoe" made for Mr. Warren Wright, July, 1941, Hollywood, and a "ruby line bracelet" Nov. 30, 1951; it is unclear which of these entries is for this bracelet. Exhibited: The George Headley Retrospective, Sept. 29, 2006-Jan. 7, 2007 at The Headley-Whitney Museum in Lexington, Kentucky (illustrated in the catalog, page 34). Provenance: the estate of Mrs. Warren (Bertha) Wright, Jr., ex-Calumet Farm, Lexington, KY. Condition: One diamond missing at break at apex of horseshoe. Scratches due to wear.
