Two (2) English and Scottish barometers. 1st item: Mahogany wheel barometer, unsigned, inlaid mahogany case with broken arch pediment with brass urn finial, "dry/damp" window, thermometer, circular convex center mirror, silvered dial barometer and level window at base. 38 1/2" H x 10" W x 1 3/8" D. English, mid 19th century. 2nd item: A. Lara, Glasgow, Scotland George III inlaid mahogany mercury stick barometer with broken arch pediment above glazed door with silvered plate. Contains mercury. 38 1/4" H x 4 1/2" W x 2 1/4" D at base. Early 19th century. Provenance: Estate of Martha Lyman, Dayton, TN. CONDITION: 1st item: This barometer contains mercury. Bone knob missing near lower end. 2nd item: Finial replaced. Contains mercury. Neither barometer checked for accuracy.
