American parcel gilt concert pedal harp, signed “Lyon & Healy/Chicago Makers U.S.A./No. 1263/Manufactured under five Patents”. Fruitwood frame with giltwood neck, knee, column, and footed base with seven pedals. Giltwood elements decorated with neoclassical motifs including Greek keys, acanthus leaves, and a column in the Ionic form. Soundboard with painted gilt foliate decorations. 69 1/4″ H x 41″ W x 19″ D. Late 19th/early 20th century. Private Middle Tennessee collection. CONDITION: Overall good condition. Fractures to wood, largest 6 1/2″, across base of soundboard. Areas of loss to gilt, largest 1 1/2″, surface of harp. Strings appear intact.
