4 Chinese Snuff Bottles, including reverse painted. 1st item: Chinese reverse painted snuff bottle, flattened circular form, with landscape decoration to each side and an inscription to one side. 3" H. 2nd item: Chinese brownish red glass snuff bottle, rectangular form with rounded shoulders having carved foo dog decoration, stopper with muti-color stones. 3" H. 3rd item: Chinese yellow glazed porcelain snuff bottle, paneled vase form, tiger's eye stopper. 2 1/2" H. 4th item: Chinese carved wood snuff bottle, oval form with incised geometric decoration. 3" H. All Late 19th/Early 20th century.
PROVENANCE: Private Franklin, TN collection, by descent from Norman and Martha Stein Dickson, who owned an antiques store at 732-736 Royal Street in New Orleans from the 1950s until their deaths in the 1970s.
CONDITION: 3rd bottle with losses to black painted decoration, otherwise overall good condition. 4th bottle has a pinprick hole in the base. Remaining bottles overall very good condition.
