1st and 2nd items: Two Savona or Albisola Majolica shell-form bowls or shaving basins with scalloped sides and molded C scroll designs. One depicts Neptune rising from the sea and holding his trident aloft; the other depicts a man holding a torch and a book, making his way through a landscape with a companion following. Each with lighthouse mark en verso. 12 in. H x 13 1/2 in. W x 2 in. D. Italian, 18th century. 3rd item: Continental Faience jardiniere, bowfront form with blue, green, and overglaze yellow decoration of scrolls, garlands, and shells, divided by eight caryatid figures projecting along the front sides. 5 1/4 in. H x 13 1/2 in. W x 7 1/2 in. D. Italian or French, Late 18th to early 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The estate of Dr. Michael Spalding, Nashville, TN.
CONDITION: 1st and 2nd items: Each with glaze pops, edge flakes, and chips up to 1/2 in. long, mostly to edges. 3rd item: Edge chips up to 1 1/2 in., old staple repairs to numerous cracks.
