Portuguese Miquelet Lock Percussion pistol, .72 caliber. Unmarked. Half round, half octagonal barrel with incised line and arch pattern, mahogany stocks with carved fish scales and floral swags, iron mounted with percussion cap in the shape of a seashell, brass tang, trigger guard, back strap, and butt cap, cleaning rod with brass finial and iron and brass tip. Barrel length – 8 3/4". Overall length – 14". Late 18th/early 19th century. CONDITION: Lock converted to percussion. Iron mounting with areas of pepper pitting. Few scratches, storage dings to stocks. Bore is dirty and pitted.
