Two (2) Hester Bateman Georgian sterling silver hollowware items. 1st item: Sweetmeat or sugar basket with engraved ship crest, a beaded bail handle and rim, pierced border over a floral engraved oval body, and a cobalt glass insert. Hallmarked for Hester Bateman, London, 1787. 2nd item: Oval teapot with repousse fruit basket and cartouche designs to body and hinged lid. Hallmarked for Hester Bateman, London, 1782. Ranging in size from 3 3/4" H x 5 5/8" W x 3 3/4" D to 5 7/8" H x 9 3/4" W x 4 1/8" D. 20.510 total weighable troy ounces.
PROVENANCE: Deaccessioned by the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts Foundation to benefit the acquisitions fund.
CONDITION: Overall good condition with minor scattered surface scratches and shrinkage cracks to handle of teapot. Cracks do not extend to silver.
