Miniature inlaid walnut Federal style chest of drawers, walnut and poplar secondary, rectangular line inlaid top over four graduated dovetailed drawers having oval inlaid fronts and brass escutcheons and knob pulls, over a line and cross inlaid base with serpentine skirt and French feet. 18" H x 13 1/2"W x 9 3/4"D. American, 20th century.
PROVENANCE: The estate of Hunter Kay, Franklin, Tennessee.
CONDITION: 2 spots of chipped veneer to front, 1/4" to 1/2", some tiny losses and minor replacements to other small areas of inlay. Drawer bottoms replaced, runners replaced or trimmed, with metal drawer stops added. One drawer with replaced sides. New screws to interior of top. Marker writing to top left drawer pull. Top lock missing, some screws missing to other locks, key not present.
