1st item: Chinese gilt carved red and black lacquer altar or incense box in two parts, the top with hole in center, sides carved in three-dimensional images of palace scene, two floral and bird scenes and one animal landscape scene. The square base in five decorative levels, having pierced work, scroll feet and flat square plinth. 13-1/2" H x 10-3/4" square overall. Late 19th/early 20th century. 2nd item: Pair of Chinese gilt carved red and black lacquer cabinet doors, three-dimensional gilt carvings depicting birds, flowers and a large phoenix. Old brass latch joins two sides, likely original. 11-3/4" H x 5-5/8" W x 1-1/8" D each. Early 20th century. Provenance – The Estate of Eddie Jack Miller, Johnson City, TN. Condition: 1st item: Some surface grime. Two splits along box top and split on top of base. Minor loss to gilt decoration and minor surface abrasions.
