Jules Rene Herve (French, 1887-1981), small oil on canvas impressionist landscape of a park scene with a monument visible in the background. Signed lower right and en verso. Sight 8" x 10", framed 14" x 12". Biography (courtesy Askart: The Artists' Bluebook): Jules Herve was born in Langres and attended L'Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris. He was awarded the Medaille d'Argent at the Salon des Artistes Francais in 1914 and exhibited there and at the various Paris salons throughout his life. Herve is best known for his idyllic, impressionist views of daily life in Paris. Provenance: the estate of Virginia J. Cook, Nashville, Tennessee. Condition: Very good condition
