33 full-sized wooden Schoenhut pieces from the Humpty Dumpty Circus. Figures include: Six (6) clowns (8" H) in colorful attire, three with one-part heads and three with two-part heads; clown in stars/clubs/diamonds clothing with seldom-seen tilted hat; one (1) lady rider/acrobat; one (1) "Oriental" style hobo w/ two-part head. Full sized, painted eye animals, one of each: White-faced monkey in red fringed outfit and pink/yellow hat (7 1/2" H); White horse w/ black mane and tail, retains a leather saddle piece (10" L); Brown horse w/ black mane and tail (10" L); Deer (6 1/2" L); Rhinoceros (9" L); Hippopotamus (9 1/2" L); Pig (7" L); Donkey (9 1/2" L); Goat (8 1/2" L); White dog (7" L). Accessories: five (5) chairs (5" H); six (6) ladders (12" L); two (2) yellow pedestals, one (1) blue pedestal, and one (1) barrel. Ca. early 20th C.
PROVENANCE: The Collection of John Bullard, Brentwood, TN.
CONDITION: All items with varying degrees of paint loss and fading to clothes. Some figures with evidence of previous owner's name on undersides. Harlequin clown face in poor condition; another clown redressed in newer clothing. Lady figure redressed. Hobo missing right ear. Deer w/ replaced antlers. Goat w/ missing beard and replaced tail. Some ladders with broken rungs.
