Franklin Mint Rembrandt's Genius sterling silver medal proof set, 50 medals total, issued circa 1973. Each depicting the paintings of Old Master artist Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn (Netherlands/Holland, 1606-1669), obverse; title, facsimile of Rembrandt's signature, and date, surrounded by a decorative border, reverse. Sterling, copyright symbol, hallmarks, and number to bottom edges. Includes one (1) certificate of authenticity, one (1) Rembrandt information book, one (1) pair of "special gloves", one (1) Lumaviewer with one (1) information booklet, one (1) round plastic slab, and one (1) pair of plastic holders. All medals, paper work, and accessories housed in fitted shelves within a wooden case having a gilt metal placard to lid. Medals: 51mm dia., 104 total troy ounces. Case: 8 7/8" H x 17 3/4" W x 11 1/2" D.
PROVENANCE: Deaccessioned by the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts Foundation to benefit the acquisitions fund.
CONDITION: All items in overall very good, uncirculated condition with some scattered minute surface scratches.
