1st item: Chinese Export lacquer tea caddy with exterior figural landscape decoration, fitted with a double pewter tea caddy interior. 5 in. H x 10 1/2 in. W x 7 1/2 in. D. 19th century. 2nd item: English mother-of-pearl inlaid lacquer jewelry cabinet with a hinged domed top that lifts to reveal a fitted interior above two doors opening to three drawers, all on a shaped and footed base. Polychrome, mother-of-pearl, and gilt landscape decoration and highlights throughout. 9 1/2 in. H x 9 1/2 in. D. Late 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The Collection of Dr. James and Rebecca Whicker, Knoxville, TN.
CONDITION: 1st item: Overall good condition with some areas of light cracklure to lacquer finish, minor losses to underside of lid and base top interior. Minor wear to gilt decoration. Bending to the top of both pewter caddies. 2nd item: Overall very good condition, very minor rubbing to one corner of the top interior tray.
