David Mah (Memphis TN, 20th/21st c.) oil on canvas rural Americana painting, “First Deer.” A boy in a hunting vest stands beside the body of a hung deer. An elderly man accompanied by a dog stands to the right while two other men drink and smoke as they lean against a pickup truck at left. An orange sunset reflects onto a body of water behind the group. Housed in a modern giltwood frame. Canvas: 36 in. H x 92. in. W. Framed: 37 3/4 in. H x 93 3/4 in. W. Biographical Note: David Mah is a native Memphian who received a BFA from The Rhode Island School of Design and a MAT from The Memphis College of Art. His work can be found in collections at the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art, Memphis Pink Palace Museum, and the Cotton Museum at the Memphis Cotton Exchange.
CONDITION: Overall very good condition, with minor 2 1/2 in. x 2/ 1/2 in. area of impact crackle to top of third tree from right, canvas remains in plane. Not examined out of frame.
