2 Japanese Woodblock Prints by Utagawa (Ando) Hiroshige (1797-1858), from One Hundred Famous Views of Edo. 1st item: KAMEIDO UME (also known as Japanese Apricot Garden or Plum Estate / Plum Orchard at Kameido). Note: This scarce image was among the Hiroshige prints copied in oil by artist Vincent Van Gogh in 1877. 2nd item: NIGHT VIEW OF SARUWAKA-MACHI (Saruwaka Street, in Edo’s Theater District; depicted are the Morita, Ichimura and Nakamura theaters at right). Both measure 14-3/16″ x 9-5/8″. Condition: 1st item: 1/4″ tear to left margin, a couple of small minor margin creases, light toning and fading. Overall good condition. 2nd item: A couple of light spots of foxing in sky area, light discoloration, overall good condition.
