Chippendale style red wash blanket chest with dovetailed corners and feet, ogee base molding, bracket feet. Wrought iron hinges, interior till with two compartments beneath till, carved and contoured blocking to feet. Oval metal escutcheon. Primary wood appears to be cherry and poplar, pine secondary. 46 5/8" W x 23 3/4" H x 20"D. Mid Atlantic. Circa 1800. Provenance: Estate of Elsie Weed, Kingsport, TN. Condition: Overall very good condition with small wear hole on top near lock, commensurate wear for age.
