Set of eight (8) Gondola Empire mahogany chairs and a pair of Empire chairs attributed to Jacob FIsher, total 10 chairs. 1st item: Pair of cherry Empire chairs with saber legs, concave crest rail and stretcher, cane seat, attributed to Jacob Fisher (working 1837 ñ 1843) or his son Richard Fisher (working 1837 ñ 1850), McMinn County, TN. 33" H. Circa 1845. 2nd item: Set of eight (8) Gondola Empire mahogany chairs consisting of shaped crestrails with carved leaves center, shaped splats and serpentine skirt, saber legs, slip seats. 32" H. Circa 1850. Provenance: Estate of Bill Selden, Athens, TN. Condition: 1st item: overall very good condition, later cane seats, light abrasions and losses to varnish on crest rail of one chair. 2nd item: set of eight chairs with various veneer chips, a couple with breaks in the crests, expected wear for age.
