19th century American School Still Life, unusual tondo style painting in oil on a circular concave wooden panel, depicting a cluster of grapes, apples and pear on a marble table top. Unsigned. Housed under glass with a gilt mat and elaborate original molded giltwood frame. Old Pittsburgh framing label en verso. Sight – 11 1/2" diameter. Frame – 22" square.
PROVENANCE: The estate of Hunter Kay, Franklin, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Painting in overall good condition with fine craquelure throughout. Frame has some small corner losses and abrasions.
