Two (2) advertising stoneware whiskey jugs. 1st item: Jack Daniel's two-gallon jug with cream slip and cobalt stencil reading JACK DANIEL'S OLD TIME DISTILLERY LYNCHBURG, TENN, 11 3/8"H x 7" dia. Circa 1870-1875. 2nd item: Georgia whiskey jug with Albany and cream slip with cobalt stencil reading POTTS-THOMPSON LIQUOR CO. DISTILLERS ATLANTA, GA with "3" denoting capacity stamped to upper shoulder, 14 1/8" H x 10 3/4" dia. Circa 1880-1906.
CONDITION: Both pieces in overall good condition with crazing and light staining, scattered wear, and some losses to glaze, largest measuring 3/4" x 1/4" to the shoulder of Potts-Thompson jug near the handle. Jack Daniel jug with 3/4" area chip to base. Potts-Thompson jug with chips to rim, largest measuring 3/8" x 3/4", and small flake to shoulder.
