1st and 2nd items: Two (2) Asian porcelain candlesticks modeled as Emperor and Empress figures in polychrome enameled robes, lifting rounded boxes which contain removable brass candle holders. 13 in. and 13 1/2 in. H. 3rd and 4th items: Two (2) Chinese Opera Dolls, painted papier mache heads with fur-trimmed and hand embroidered silk clothing, elaborate carved and painted headdresses, and painted wooden shoes. 10 1/2 in H. All items circa 1900.
PROVENANCE: The estate of Ann B. Lee, Franklin, TN.
CONDITION: Porcelain Empress figure with losses to fingers. Porcelain Emperor: repaired cracks to both hands and 1 arm. Both with wear to enameling and some firing/glaze flaws and minor chipping to hemlines. Dolls with some rubbing to faces and general light wear; clothing in good condition with some fading and losses to fur. Male head loose.
