German painted cast iron Christmas tree holder with a figural Santa Claus standing on a naturalistic base. The opening for the trunk has adjustable keys and was likely intended for a feather tree with narrow trunk. Numbered on the base underside "1919". 8 1/2" H x 12 1/2" square. 1st quarter 20th century.
PROVENANCE: Private Nashville, Tennessee collection.
CONDITION: Fading to paint on top of base, with scattered chipping and losses to paint.
