Philippe Henri Noyer (France, 1917-1985) oil on canvas painting depicting a young peasant boy in a straw hat standing beside a rooster with two glass balls suspended on strings from his right pocket, before a group of berry bushes beneath a late afternoon sky. Signed and dated "Ph. Noyer.47" lower right. Housed in a carved wooden frame with giltwood trim and a wooden fillet. Sight: 25" H x 19 1/4" W. Framed: 34 3/4" H x 29" W.
CONDITION: Overall good condition with craquelure. Minute scattered areas of paint flakes/loss, primarily to lower margin. 1/4" x 17" area of rubbing/surface grime to lower edge of canvas. Frame with 3/4" area of loss, top left.
