Three (3) English Sterling Silver Vinaigrettes. 1st item: Georgian Vinaigrette modeled as a purse or pocketbook, with gilt wash to the exterior and gilt filigree interior, sterling and George III hallmarks plus another illegible hallmark. 2nd item: Victorian cartouche-form vinaigrette with engraved landscape scene to cover. Hallmarked for Edward Smith, Birmingham, 1845-46. 3rd item: Victorian Album or Cartouche form vinaigrette with gilt pierced scroll interior, hallmarks attributed to Colen Hewer Cheshire, Birmingham, 1848. Exterior monogrammed “Catherine”. Has loop attachment. All items approx. 1 1/2 in. (4 cm) in width. Combined weight 2.41 oz troy.
PROVENANCE: The estate of Dr. Ian M. Mathison, Murfreesboro TN and Big Rapids, MI.
CONDITION: 1st item: Wear to exterior gilding. Otherwise, all items excellent condition.
