Pair Famille Rose figural decorated bowls with turquoise glaze interior. Each bowl of Qianlong form with flared rim and low foot, overglaze-decorated with 3 female figures in a boat and pagoda, landscape and fungi decoration on a background of sgraffito waves in white enamel. Turquoise glaze and Ch'ien Lung seal mark to underside. 6 1/2" diameter by 3 1/4"H. Chinese, late Qing or early Republic Period. Includes later carved wooden stands, 1 1/2"H. Note: Consignor's mother acquired the bowls in the 1920s from a neighbor who had served as a missionary to China.
PROVENANCE: The collection of Jean Rippy, Franklin, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Overall excellent condition with some light wear along upper rims and foot ring.
