Grouping of 13 Obsolete Currency Notes, all marked "State of Georgia" including 1) Two 1864 $2 bills with steamship at sea, green treasury seal on front, 2) Two 1864 $4 bills, with an allegorical Moneta seated with treasure and pictures of slaves harvesting cotton. Green treasury seal on front, 3) One 1864 $5 bill, with an allegorical Moneta seated with treasure,190,000 issued–green treasury seal on face of note, 4) One 1864 $20 bill, with an allegorical Moneta seated with treasure, 75,000 issued–green treasury seal on face of note 5) One $50 bill, 30,000 issued–red FIFTY overprint–no treasury seal. 6) Four $100 1863 note with Georgia coat of arms and portrait of Georgia Civil War Governor Joseph E. Brown, 7) One $100 1864, with an allegorical Moneta seated with treasure and flanked on one side with classical figure, 1,200 issued, red "500" overprint, no treasury seal, and 8) One 1864 $100 note with allegorical figure of Ceres and sailors — 2 Treasury seals stamped on the face at each end. All in extremely fine condition. All notes measure about 3" H X 7" W.
