Swiss brass cylinder 8 tune music box, housed in a rosewood case with floral and line inlaid lid and front and ebonized trim. Glass door houses cylinder frame marked with the serial number #875 and complete steel comb and is flanked by the winding arm and Change and Repeat/ Stop and Play levers. Paper label attached to inner lid lists titles of songs, style, and composer. 7 1/4" H x 23" W x 9" D. Late 19th/Early 20th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Margaret Harold Roberts, Lookout Mountain, Georgia.
CONDITION: Case with scattered wood losses to case edges, particularly along the front of the lid and front edge of case. Light scratching to lid and losses to feet. Music mechanism functioning at time of inspection.
