Photographic archive documenting the visit of President John F. Kennedy to Nashville, Tennessee on May 18, 1963 and the NASA facility at Huntsville, Alabama on September 11, 1962, most taken by Nashville photographer Harold Lowe. The Nashville related group of items includes 27 photographs (20 images, plus some duplicates) of JFK's visit to Nashville, each on Kodak paper and stamped "Harold G. Lowe Jr. Photojournalism" en verso, 1 photograph stamped "Jack Corn Staff Photographer The Nashville Tennessean," 7 photographs without backstamps, and 1 framed photograph (not examined out of frame), plus a binder containing more than 250 negatives. The NASA related group includes 5 photographs of Kennedy walking off his plane, inspecting a rocket and rocket models and riding in a car with a man believed to be aerospace engineer Werner Von Braun (1 image is a duplicate). None are stamped. Most images in this lot are 8" x 10". Two are mounted under glass in 20" x 16" frames and one in an 8 x 10" frame. NOTE: The sale of this lot does not include the rights to reproduce these images for resale.
CONDITION: The majority of the photographs and negatives appear to be in excellent condition. Fewer than a dozen have light creasing and toning (notably, the Kennedy and Von Braun photos). 4 are adhered to a black backing. Framed items not examined out of frame.
