Victorian oil on canvas portrait painting depicting two young girls with red hair in ringlets, attired in pink dresses and white bonnets, depicted standing and holding each other with one arm draped around their grey dog. Housed in an ornate carved giltwood frame. Sight: 26 1/2" H x 19 1/2" W. Framed: 34 1/4" H x 27 1/2" W. Likely American, 19th century.
CONDITION: Overall heavy craquelure with some flea-bite losses and light inpainting in the lower margin, visible under blacklight inspection. A few minor scratches, larges 1 1/4" Overall cracking to frame with minor losses to gilt.
