Large cobalt decorated water cooler, script mark J.B. Williams Putnam Ohio, cobalt floral decoration verso depicting two flowering tulip plants with three tulips each, cobalt highlights around cooler spout and handle terminals. Incised gallon capacity mark 12 on one side, cobalt brushed 12 on opposite side. Pulled strap handles (one missing). 21"H. Note regarding the potter, John B. Williams: A writer to the Sunday Times Signal of Zanesville, OH said on Feb. 21. 1866: "Our village is quite a manufacturing place. The potteries are turning out the 'Putnam currency' in large quantities. The largest manufactory of this land is owned by Mr. John B. Williams.
