Charles Kermit Ewing (Tennessee, 1910-1976) Companion pair watercolors, views of waves hitting the shore, one signed lower left and other signed land dated ower right, Ewing '69. Sight: 10 3/8" H x 14 3/4" W, Framed: 18" H x 21 3/4" W. Condition: Overall very good condition. Biography (Courtesy Peter Falk, Who Was Who in American Art): Charles Ewing was a Pennsylvania-born painter, teacher, and lithographer. He studied at Carnegie Mellon University, Harvard, and the University of Iowa with Jean Charlot. He was a member of art associations in Pittsburgh, Atlanta and New Rochelle, and in 1938, exhibited at the National Academy of Design. He served as art consultant for the Tennessee Valley Authority and, from 1948 until his retirement, was head of the art department at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.
