William S. Haynes & Company/ Acton, Massachusetts, HMCH (handmade, closed hole) sterling silver flute, serial #41586, manufactured on November 4, 1974. Retains the original blue velvet-lined carrying case and cleaning rod. Not marked but XRF test Sterling. Flute measures: 27 3/4 in. L. Case measures: 2 1/4 in. H x 15 1/4 in. L x 3 1/2 in. D. 14.66 troy ounces.
PROVENANCE: Private West Tennessee collection.
CONDITION: Professionally serviced in 2004. The body was cleaned, adjusted, and regulated. The keys were oiled, and the inner rods were cleaned. The binding was fixed on the trill keys, and the key cork was replaced on the G keys.
