Frederick Henry Henshaw (RBSA, United Kingdom, 1807-1891), oil on canvas landscape of mountain stream with boulders. Signed and dated, 1851, lower left. Old shipping label on back of painting. Likely original gilt and molded frame: 34-3/8″ H x 42-1/4″ W, Sight: 27-3/8″ H x 35-3/8″ W. Biography: British landscape painter Frederick Henry Henshaw was born in Birmingham, England. He was a student of Joseph Vincent Barber and was heavily influenced by Turner. He exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1828 and was a member of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists (RBSA). Provenance: Estate of Mary Johnson, Nashville, TN. Condition: Overall cracquelure. Minor cracks to frame.
